​Beating the huge storm.( Winter Storm Elliot)

Our products are not just for fencing or growing but get used in many other applications .

Stewart Balloons and Baskets called on Dec 15th saying that required more Tenax Ornex bird net for New Year events and could this be delivered before Christmas if at all possible.

We did not have stock of the Ornex 15 foot x 5000 foot roll they required or wether any actually existed at this time of year.

Contacting Tenax we found that a batch was currently in production for spring orders and some rolls would be ready hopefully by the end of the week.

The challenge was then how to get a single oversized roll of this material from the Baltimore factory to Barrie Ontario before Christmas so that Stewart Balloons and Baskets could get there customer balloon displays constructed. Normally it would be a full 5-6 days for shipment from Baltimore to Ontario during spring and summer but not with winter conditions. In addition oversized rolls are not easy to move within trucking depots and can get put to the side in favour of standard shipment pallets which can add an extra day or so. It was a tall order and the weather forecast did not look promising as the shipment would transit through Buffalo NY.

But we had to try.

We booked the shipment for pickup with R&L Carriers Monday 19th December,organized pre- clearance of the shipment with customs , primed Day & Ross trans-border team that the shipment had to be quickly dispatched for delivery to Barrie On once the shipment arrived in Brampton.

The weather forecast was getting more ominous for Buffalo NY and southern Ontario with heavy rain turning to heavy snow on 21st December.

Fortunately R&L Carriers got the shipment to Buffalo NY with handover to Day&Ross on the 20 th Dec. Custom clearance was received the same day.

Day and Ross delivered the shipment on the morning of 21st

Stewart Balloons and Baskets were ecstatic, they could fulfill all their orders for the New Year.
