Cedar hedges are particularly vulnerable in the winter months to deer browsing and stripping the green cedars right back to the wood. Unfortunately once the deer have had their fill of the green foliage the cedars rarely recover and the hedge needs to be replaced.
This destruction can be prevented by erecting our temporary winter protection against deer damage.
It is possible to leave up all year round if you wish, what will happen if you do leave it up the cedars will eventually grow through the deer fence and leave some food for the deer to browse. However they will be prevented from stripping the cedars back to the trunk by the deer fence ie they will do some winter pruning for you.
Easy to erect with our fibre glass poles and the tools to do the job.
Use the small auger with an electric drill to create a hole for the pole.
Push the pole into the hole and down as far as you can.
Poles do not have to be uniformly spaced, so select areas where to auger that does not have roots.
Attach the mesh with the zip ties and tighten with the puller cutter. 5 zip ties per pole
